Nostalgia Classic Cars is proud to offer you an iconic piece of German engineering, a 1969 Mercedes-Benz 280 SL. This car is a US-spec version, one of 12.927 280 SLs originally imported to the United States. The car comes painted in a beautiful Midnight Blue shade, with complementary hard top roof this model is so famous for. The interior is finished in beige leather, which suits the exterior’s colorway perfectly. Its 2.8L M130 straight-six engine is mated to a 4-speed automatic gearbox, and it produces 160 horsepower. Undeniable style of this Mercedes-Benz comes with fantastic reliability, which makes it an ideal classic for everyday driving.

Produced from 1963 to 1971, Mercedes-Benz W113 had a daunting task ahead of itself: it had to be a worthy replacement of both the advanced 300SL and its smaller, yet equally beautiful cousin 190SL, but it succeded in great style. Its development was lead by none other than Rudolf Uhlenhaut, an undisputed Mercedes-Benz legend, with Friedrich Gieger as the head of styling. The men responsible for the iconic design of the W113 were Paul Bracq, and Bela Barenyi, the creator of the iconic hardtop concave roof, which prompted the nickname Pagoda.

The 280SL was the final evolution of the model, which came in late 1967. This version featured the last tune-up of the M180 motor, which finally provided the W113 with adequate power.  That is why 280SL is today the most desirable W113 Pagoda, as well as one of the most sought after Mercedes-Benz roadsters in general, which fills us with pride to have such a legend in our showroom.
