Nostalgia Classic Cars Dubai proudly presents you a true Italian muscle car, the 1994 Maserati Shamal. This car comes from the last year of DeTomaso era in Maserati's history, and unlike best-selling yet horrendosly unreliable Biturbo cars, the Tipo 339 Shamal is a proper beast on wheels and a much needed evolutionary step in the company's tumultous times. It was introduced in 1990 as a compact and boxy performance-oriented coupé designed by none other than Marcello Gandini, the creator of many iconic cars including the Countach. It was powered by a 3.2L AM 479 engine producing 321 horsepower thanks to twin-turbocharging and four valve per cylinder construction. As power is nothing without proper control, all Shamals had specially developed adaptive suspension, courtesy of Koni.
Our Maserati Shamal is what every true Italian sportscar needs to be. It is red, aggressive yet elegant, and it is by all means beautiful. The defining feature of the Shamal are its uncompromisingly wide wheel arches which complete its menacing appeal. This example has been fitted with aftermarket five-spoke Sparco rims finished in dark gold, while the rest of the car is completely stock. The AM 479 engine is mated to 5-speed Gertrag manual transmission providing optimal performance best reflected in its 0-100 km/h time of 5.3s and a top speed of 270 km/h. The interior is finished in black gloss leather, and is a perfect combination of GT car luxury and performance-oriented functionality. Often overlooked, the Shamal is a true gem, and all it takes is just one roar of its V8 to make you want it more than any similar car from the era.
