Nostalgia Classic Cars is pleased to be able to show the 1976 Mercedes-Benz 450SEL 6.9. The 450SEL was in production from 1972, until 1980. This marque was the first to be officially deemed by Mercedes the name that all automobile enthusiasts admire, “S-Class,” where the “S” refers to Sonderklasse, translating from German to English, meaning “Special Class.” S-Class’s have been known to not only be the top of the line Mercedes-Benz lines, which are extremely luxurious where the interior speaks for itself, but also have brought some of the most safety features to the automobile market compared to any other automobile manufacturer. Referred to be Mercedes fanatics as just the “6.9,” this automobile was produced on its own assembly line apart from the normal 450SEL’s, and during the 6.9’s production life, which lasted from 1975, until 1980, only 7,380 of them were ever produced, making this one of the rarest Mercedes-Benz’s around. In 1999, Britain’s Classic & Sports Car magazine ranked the Mercedes-Benz 6.9 fourth on their list of the world’s greatest saloons.
For German made automobile enthusiasts, or classic car enthusiasts who favor any other make, this is an extremely lucky find at 55,576 miles on it, and in such amazing condition, which we here at Nostalgia Classic Cars are thrilled to exhibit.
